These are images from start to finish on the second day of my sculpture course, producing a plaster sculpture of a hand.
First, i put together a wire frame in the shape i wanted and bent the fingers into the position i wanted, then wrapped the frame in chicken wire.
This is after i covered the frame in chicken wire, so it is fully fleshed out and i even bent in the details of the knuckles for more accuracy.
These pictures were taken half way through the plastering process. Strips of 'scrim' were dipped in the liquid plaster mix and then applied and wrapped around the wire sculpture.
This is the finished piece, unfortunately most of the pictures went in my portfolio and i haven't got it back yet, when i do i'll post better pictures.
